Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir said an integrated command and control system had been developed for the Punjab police.
He said the PSCA had identified 2,000 locations for installation of 10,000 surveillance cameras. He said that the cameras would be installed at all entrances and exits of Lahore, along VVIP routes, public places, crime hot spots and key infrastructure sites, public institutions and markets.
“Encroachments from main bazaars of the city are being removed from Islampura, Hall Road, Anarkali and Karim Park to minimise security threats,” he said.
