Taking action: About hundred vehicles fined
Hundreds of vehicles have been fined for hundreds of thousands of rupees
HYDERABAD:
Troubled by the high number of accidents on the Indus Highway and a lack of response from the federal authorities, the district administration of Jamshoro has launched a drive to address some of the causes of these accidents. From the previous few days, the administration along with the Regional Transport Authority is not allowing the heavy transport vehicles to use the 132 kilometers stretch between Jamshoro and Sehwan, the single and curvy road which witnesses frequent accidents. The administration claims that many coaches, vans and goods transport vehicles do not have the road permit to use this part of the Indus highway. Hundreds of vehicles have been fined for hundreds of thousands of rupees during last few days.
