
This was stated by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq Mahmood Pirzada on Saturday during a meeting with the owners of private security companies to ensure strict implementation of minimum wage laws.
Teams under the supervision of the Islamabad Industries and Labour Director Malik Zafar Iqbal Awan have started a comprehensive survey and inspection of factories, commercial establishments and private security companies, he added.
The chief commissioner told participants that the administration has also set up help lines at telephone numbers 926-1241 and 926-0738 (add 051 before the number if dialling from a mobile phone) to address complaints on non-compliance with wage laws.
The owners of all private security companies operating in ICT assured Pirzada that they will comply with the law.
The government has fixed a minimum monthly salary of Rs7,000 for unskilled workers with effect from July 2010. The chief
commissioner said he had also met with the office bearers of Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industries, who assured him of their full compliance.
