ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman has supported Saudi Arabia to acquire nuclear technology and become an atomic power to counter aggression from the West.

Fazl expressed these views while addressing Difa-e-Khadim-e-Haramain Sharifain conference organised on Monday.

“Muslims want to see Saudi Arabia become an atomic power in the future to counter western propaganda against Islam, particularly against the kingdom,” the JUI-F chief said.

Saudi Arabia considers its own nuclear options after Iran deal

He said the protection of Haramain was the collective responsibility of the Ummah, and all Muslim countries should unite to counter Western aggression.

Maulana Samilul Haq said an attack on Haramain should be considered as an attack on our faith and “we should expose western propaganda”. He urged Muslim leaders to unite against the West’s nefarious design.

Well in my view it is not necessary. Because all the Muslim countries will come to rescue if anyone tries to do mischief.Recommend

Saudi Arabia does not have anything to offer the Islamic world any more. Neither does Iran.
Oil and Gas are fast becoming obsolete. They are both trading at record low prices which indicates very large supply and very low demand.
The Saudis and Iranians better save their dollars instead of wasting them on nuclear weapons. Recommend

Is this guy serious? The dangers of nuclear proliferation aside, what kind of conspiracy theories is this guy peddling? Western propaganda is everyone’s favourite go-to excuse for everything and in case these Difa-e-Khadim-e-Haramain Sharifain Conference morons have forgotten, Masjid-e-Nabvi has already been attacked, not by the west, by Muslims who believe in an extremist religious and political agenda just 2 days before Eid there was a suicide attack. Where is the outrage against the people who perpetrated that attack? Giving Saudi Arabia nukes is not the answer, spreading violence is not the answer. Becoming a sensible human being is the answerRecommend

Nuclear scientists are not produced in Madressas, Ulema did not discover nuclear fission so how does Mr. Diesel expect the Saudis to acquire nuclear technology. I guess they can purchase it from some other country. Rumour was that Saudis have already paid some down payments to another Muslim nuclear power for future provision of nuclear weapons.Recommend

Pakistan’s utility for Saudi Arabia will be over after they have nuclear weapons. Pakistan will stop getting Saudi aid. Maulana Fazlur Rehman should understand that if Pakistan has some respect if it is the only nuclearised Islamic country. This is a Myopic vision. Besides safety of Pakistan will be jeopardised if nuclear weapons spread to west of Pakistan. This man will create new problems for Pakistan Recommend

Let me correct you my Indian friend. You are comparing two different locations. Saudi has Islam’s holiest place on earth. And any risk or harm will be dealt by all Muslim countries with severity. However, I do agree that Muslim leaders failed to protect Palestinians.Recommend
