Speaking at a news conference held at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, the doctors said they may have to stop out-door patient (OPD) services in hospitals and may also be compelled to stay away from emergency services.
On the occasion, Provincial Doctors Association Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) President Dr Qazi Amjad said these doctors had passed out in January 2016 and had waited for at least six months to enter the training but the government has delayed it. He also said the authorities concerned had assured them otherwise. “Our doctors are compelled to leave the country and go abroad when such unjust policies are applied to them.”
Another member of the association, Dr Aftab Ahmad, asked the provincial government and Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) to solve the issue within the stipulated deadline.
He said they had conveyed the issue to the provincial government earlier as well.
