
A circular was issued on Wednesday by the Registrar Office in this regard.
It stated that the CJ and other judges of the LHC were of the view that they must act to honour late Abdul Sattar Edhi. “The money may be donated on or before July 15 and be deposited with the treasury officer and be collected at allied benches of the LHC by respective additional registrars and transmitted to the treasury office,” the circular stated.
It was reiterated in the circular that it was a voluntary contribution. Another circular was issued specifying the amount of donation for judicial officers and staff. The circular said that district and sessions judges may contribute Rs5,000 each, additional district and sessions judges Rs3,000 each and senior civil judges Rs2,000 each.
