Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday slammed media outlets for spreading news about his third marriage and sharing pictures of women he "has never met".

"Women's pictures shown whom I neither know nor ever met. Such disinformation is irresponsible and shows a collapse of moral and ethical standards," Imran Khan said on Twitter.

"Unethical of media to spread false news of my marriage based upon absolute lies . Had that happened in UK heads would have rolled," he added.

Imran Khan on Tuesday termed all the ‘rumours’ about his third marriage as ‘baseless’ after a statement issued by his party could not satisfy the inquisitive media.

Putting to rest: Rumours of third marriage are baseless, says Imran Khan

Imran, who is in UK these days, issued a clarification through Twitter saying, “Rumours about my marriage are absolutely baseless. I have not gotten married. When I do, I will announce and celebrate publicly.”

The PTI chairman will be returning from UK on July 17. “Imran Khan is on vacations and is spending time with his children,” a statement issued by the PTI media wing earlier said.

The statement also clarified that Imran is spiritually connected to Maneka family of Pakpattan and nothing else. Media reports said Imran Khan visited Pakpattan thrice this month to visit his would-be bride, Maryam, who is a sister of Imran’s ‘spiritual guide’.

PTI’s Secretary Information Naeemul Haq also refuted media reports about Imran’s third marriage. “These reports are baseless and his family members aren’t even aware of any such decision made by him,” Haque said while speaking to Express News.

Speculations about Imran’s third marriage started after he, in an interview with Hindustan Times, said, “It is not in my blood to give up,” in connection with a query about his marriage.

Kashif | 7 years ago | Reply Thats rich coming from someone who routinely spews baseless and unfounded vitriol against anyone in a futile (and ultimately unsuccessful) attempt to substantiate his claims.
