Violence in Kashmir: PPP submits motion in NA to discuss ‘Indian atrocities’

Says the house should immediately discuss the ‘bloodbath’ by Indian forces

ISLAMABAD: The PPP lawmakers in the National Assembly submitted an adjournment motion on Tuesday for discussion on the worsening Indian atrocities in the Indian held Kashmir (IHK).

“We the undersigned request that the House should immediately discuss the massacre and bloodbath carried out by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the death of more than 32 innocent Kashmiris and injured hundreds,” read the resolution.

The motion – submitted by Shazia Mari, Azra Fazal, Nafisa Shah, Imran Laghari, Beelum Husnain and Noman Islam – says such blatant use of force in IHK is intolerable and unbearable. “It is not only a violation of international laws but also a sheer negation of basic human rights of Kashmiris,” it says.

It says this continuous offensive attitude of Indian forces cannot deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand for the realisation of the right to self-determination.

“This is a serious issue and requires immediate discussion on the floor of the house so that a concrete strategy may be devised in this regard,” it adds.

Bindi Irwin, Brisbane | 8 years ago | Reply Crying crocodile tears for political gains is the last thing Kashmiris want...First Pakistan should stop this hypocrisy and stop interfering in neighbours issues and specifically stop the incitement of hatred in J&K using religious cards. Pakistan should actually put a motion in parliament to check why is it that it has issues with 3 of its neighbours??
