The first edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) fulfilled a lot of promises when it came to star power but the next version, planned to take place in February 2017, is already assuring a better show.
Recently, Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga and South African all-rounder Albie Morkel agreed to be a part of the players' draft for the second edition of the league.

“Top foreign stars are joining HBL PSL with Sri Lankan pacer Malinga and South African all-rounder Morkel becoming the latest additions to an impressive player roster,” read a Pakistan Cricket Board release.
The Islanders' right-hand sling-action bowler has picked up 78 wickets in 62 T20Is. Meanwhile, the Proteas all-rounder boasts a record of 572 runs and 26 wickets in 50 T20I encounters.

The press release reiterated that player retention and player transfer windows are also open for franchises to reconsider their squads.
“Player retention is currently open during which franchises have the option of retaining up to 16 players from their existing squads,” the press release said. “During this phase, teams can also renegotiate with existing players. The player transfer window is concurrently open with teams having the option of using their draft pick order and/or existing squads to trade.”

Earlier, former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and current England limited over skipper Eoin Morgan were inducted in the players' draft process for the second edition of PSL.
McCullum, who retired from international cricket just a month before the World T20 earlier this year, is currently taking part in the Caribbean Premier League.

The 34-year-old has already played in more than 240 T20Is all over the world, where he scored more than 6,800 runs with seven centuries and 33 half-centuries.
On the other hand, Morgan who recently led his side to the final of the World T20, has played in more than 190 T20Is where he scored 4,063 with an average of over 26.
