Safety first: Commissioner inspects security arrangements

BAHAWALPUR: Commissioner Saqib Zafar visited various public places in Bahawalpur on Sunday to inspect security arrangements. He was accompanied by City Assistant Commissioner Rao Tasleem Akhtar.

He inspected security arrangements at the Bahawalpur Zoo, Ladies Park, Saraiki Chowk; a private bus terminal and Dring Stadium. He checked the walk-through gates, CCTV cameras, metal detectors and surveillance equipment. The commissioner expressed displeasure at the lax security measures at the bus terminal.

He spoke to the security officials at the terminal and told them to ensure proper security arrangements. He directed them to pay special attention to surveillance of passengers and cargo to ensure fool-proof security of the passengers and the bus terminal.
