Police arrested a man on Saturday for killing his sister.
A police spokesman said Mariam, a resident of Chak L-107/9, had married a man a few months ago against her family’s wishes. He said a panchayat had mediated in the matter and she had been asked to return home.
He said on Friday, Mariam had had an argument with her brother Mubeen, who was unhappy with the panchayat’s decision. He said the man had stabbed her a few hours after she went to sleep.
The spokesman said he had confessed to killing her.
He said the woman’s body had been handed over to the family after post mortem examination.
