ISLAMABAD: Model-turned social media butterfly Qandeel Baloch has decided to settle abroad soon after receiving death threats following the surfacing of two photographs in which she appears with Mufti Abdul Qavi.

Speaking to The Express Tribune on Monday, Qandeel said that after the episode with Mufti Abdul Qavi she has been receiving threats over the phone. She said that she has decided to move abroad with her parents after Eidul Fitr as she knows she would not be provided security in the country. She claims that she has not yet received any response from the interior ministry regarding her application for security.

Qandeel Baloch ‘plans’ to settle abroad amid security woes

“I have learnt through media that the interior minister has confirmed receiving my application and he is pondering over the issue. Chaudhry Nisar had also maintained that although he received an application requesting provision of security, it was under a different name, Fauzia Azeem,” she said.

In response to a query, she said that her real name is Fauzia Azeem. She mentioned her real name along with her pen-name, Qandeel Baloch, in the application filed to the ministry.

Qandeel Baloch issued summons, legal notice

A picture of Qandeel and Mufti Qavi created quite a buzz on social media and made the rounds even in the mainstream media. A second picture showed Mufti Qavi holding a cell phone to his ear and the woman wearing his hat, standing close to him.

She probably might move to India because according to her in a live interview on a Pakistani talk show she claimed that she has received offers from the producers of Bigg Boss to participate in the show. Besides, a lot of Pakistani celebrities have either already settled down or looking to settled down in India. Recommend

Why has Mufti Abdul Qawi not been removed from PTI? Why is there no comment from IK….selective morality?
If Ms. Qandeel Baloch is receiving death threats then the police should automatically take up the matter, follow any leads, and clarify the matter or arrest the culprit. Salams Recommend

What talent we got in the name of Qandeel Baloch(who is she). What kind of literate and modest society we are giving to our youth. Is it matter whether she live in Pakistan or not, whats the news in it. Recommend

To those who rejoice at this news, remember that a Pakistani citizen is being forced to leave her own country. That shows how unsafe we Pakistanis are in our own country. It is a matter of shame to know that we are not comfortable in our own homes.

What a sorry nation we are. A person is fleeing for her life and we are cheering that. I wonder how would our reactions change when our loved ones are given death threats. Shame on us! Recommend
