MULTAN:

“The process for the delegation of authority to local government representatives has begun on the directives of the chief minister,” said District Coordination Officer Nadir Chatha on Saturday.

“Offices will be provided to chairmen and deputy chairmen after Eid,” he said.

He was addressing a meeting of chairmen and deputy chairmen of 68 union councils at Raza Hall.

“The chief minister has sent a message that the provincial government wants to delegate authority to local governments without further delay,” he said.

He said elections for mayors and reserved seats had been delayed because the matter was in court.

He said Multan district government had sent a list of things required to set up offices of chairmen and vice chairmen.
