
According to a police statement issued on Saturday, a trader was kidnapped and robbed. An official of Mirpur police cited Baber Beg as saying that his brother Sajid Beg was working as a salesman at Roshan Mall in Jadoon Plaza. He went missing when he was on his way back home on Thursday night.
Baber feared his brother was kidnapped for unknown reasons. The police have neither registered an FIR of the incident nor located the missing salesman.
Separately, unknown robbers kidnapped Munir Shaheen, a goldsmith, from Sarafa Bazaar and stole cash and jewellery from him.
According to Munir, he came back from Rawalpindi two days ago with jewellery for retailers. He had delivered all the items to local jewellers, except for some gold rings and tops which could not be delivered, so he decided to go home. When he reached near his house in Rajput Colony, Murree Road, someone hit him on his head with a weapon and he fell unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he was lying on a hospital bed in Ayub Teaching Hospital.
