IUB budget approved
The budget deficit will be met through financial management
BAHAWALPUR:
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved a Rs3,191.447 million budget for the fiscal year 2016-17. The budget focuses on fiscal discipline, research, development and reducing financial deficit. The budget was approved in the Finance and Planning Committee meeting at Abbasia Campus on Thursday. Vice Chancellor Qaiser Mushtaq chaired the meeting. Other committee members included Dean of Pharmacy Mahmood Ahmad, Department of Seraiki Chairman Javed Hassan Chandio, Additional Secretary Shoaib Anwar, Section Officer Muhammad Rashid Zahoor and Treasurer Fakhar Bashir, among others. The committee has estimated a Rs2,977.205 million income from various sources. The development budget has been set at Rs965.801 million. The budget deficit will be met through financial management, austerity measures and grants received from the federal and provincial governments, the VC said.
