Justice Shah takes oath as new LHC CJ

LAHORE: Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah took oath as the 45th Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Governor’s House. Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana administered the oath.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal, members of the provincial cabinet, Lahore High Court judges, Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman and presidents of the Lahore High Court Bar Association and the Lahore Bar Association attended the ceremony.

The participants congratulated the newly-appointed chief Justice. Later, a guard of honour was presented to the new chief justice by a contingent of Police Department officers at the LHC premises.

Separately, Justice Ijazul Ahsan on Tuesday took oath as a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The oath was administered by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali in a ceremony at the Supreme Court’s Lahore registry building.

The ceremony was attended by judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the attorney general of Pakistan, senior lawyers and officers of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.

Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present on the occasion.

Minhas | 7 years ago | Reply I think Justice Mansoor Ali Shah would be great person for this corrupt judiciary and lawyers. I wish him all the best and may Allah bless him with wisdom help him to eradicate these corrupt elements who have no belief of an afterlife or death.
