I loved Eid as a child. My dadi used to buy me the most beautiful Eid joras, and my mother would make me ghararas. I also fondly remember celebrating Chaand Raat with all of my cousins every Eid.

I think I still get more Eidi than I end up giving!
How do you celebrate Chaand Raat?
I don’t go out, only because my friends say it’s a pain taking me out anywhere in public. So a bunch of us get together at someone’s house.

When I was 12, I surprisingly got extra Eidi. So I decided to go to the market and splurge it all but ended up giving it to the beggars instead. I’m a bit more selective now.

My fondest Eid memory was when I was 13 and my parents gifted me my first set of turntables. It was definitely a defining moment in my life.

It goes both ways. Who doesn’t love getting Eidi, but in the past couple of years it’s been a great feeling giving my little cousins Eidi and seeing how excited they get.

My fondest memory is when I was 12 years old, I went out with all my cousins and family to look for colourful bangles. There is something about that day which was filled with pure excitement and joy. Of course getting lots of Eidi the next day was pretty great too!

By doing all things Eid related! I love going out with my family and enjoying the anticipation of Eid. There is pure love and excitement going around. I love mehndi so I end up putting it on other people too.

Well, I wake up early to meet everyone but then I end up eating a lot and snoozing throughout the day.

It has to be when I was in the 8th grade and a bunch of friends were at my place and we spontaneously decided to visit all our classmates that Eid.

Going for morning Eid prayers with my grandfather and then coming back home excited, ready to eat all the sawayyian. Of course also collecting Eidi from all the elders!

I always celebrate with a lot of spirit and with my friends and family.
