LAHORE:

Adviser to Chief Minister Khwaja Salman Rafiq on Saturday said that a polio vaccination drive would be launched in five districts of south Punjab from July 27. The drive will end on July 4.  Addressing a meeting, Rafiq said the campaign would be conducted in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan.  He said the campaign was being organised after polio virus was found in an environment sample in Dera Ghazi Khan.

“The presence of virus in the environment means we cannot afford complacency at any moment,” the adviser said. Health Services Punjab Director General Mukhtar Hussein Syed said the campaign would target 2,351,014 children under five years.”
