Drowned In Neelum River: 2 killed, 7 feared dead in AJK accident

The other five passengers are suspected to have drowned and swept away by the river’s powerful current.

MUZAFFARABAD:  

At least two people died and five others were feared dead when a van plunged into the Neelum river in the Davlian area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Friday. Nine other passengers were wounded, police officials said. According to them, the driver of the van carrying the passengers lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn. The van plunged into the Neelum river as a result, they said. Locals rushed to the scene of the accident and pulled out the injured and two of the deceased from the wreckage. The other five passengers are suspected to have drowned and swept away by the river’s powerful current.
