At the launch of Shirish Kunder’s short film Kriti, the Tanu Weds Manu actor spoke about the challenges of making short films. “It’s hard to make a short film. I myself have made one, The Touch, and it’s difficult,” she shared.
She then spoke about the importance of adapting according to changing times and trends. “Everything is becoming smaller and smaller and I feel the future of cinema is internet movies. The two-and-half-hour film culture is not the future. Future is online and the sooner we catch that, we won’t be lagging behind,” said the Queen star.
Kriti is written and directed by Kunder. It features Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte and Neha Sharma in lead roles.
Bajpayee also echoed Ranaut’s opinions regarding short internet films. “Internet is a bigger and wider medium and we should explore it. I want to get used to it as it gives freedom to experiment and challenges us to explore characters that we don’t get to play in feature films.” shared the Gangs of Wasseypur actor.
