MULTAN: The district government will set up three Eid Bazaars in the city in the last week of Ramazan, DCO Nadir Chattha said at a meeting with district officers on Wednesday. These will be set up in Gulgasht, Mumtazabad and Fort Qasim Garden.

Chattha said the bazaars will open for a week and will have stalls selling bangles, mehndi, toys, dresses and trinkets. Parking and entry will be free but limited to families only, he said. “The idea is to create a festive atmosphere in the days leading up to Eid…we think this could be a great success.”

The DCO said it was the district government’s duty to make sure that Eid was an enjoyable affair for citizens. He said they would also set up stalls for children and designate a play area for them. “There will be food stalls and swings in the area designated for children,” he said.

The DCO said City Assistant Commisioner Farooq Dogar would be in charge of the Eid Bazaar at Fort Qasim Garden, RTA Secretary Kashif Dogar will be in charge of setting up the Eid Bazaar in Gulgasht, and Assistant Commissioner Malik Attaul Haq will be responsible for setting up the Eid Bazaar in Mumtazabad.

Chattha told them to start making preparations for the bazaars. He cautioned them about security matters and told them to ensure tight security at all Eid Bazaars. The DCO also issued instructions regarding the parking arrangements.
