Addressing a press conference at Police Headquarters Garden, the CTD SSP Junaid Shaikh said that the suspects have been identified as Inamullah alias Kamran and Shafi alias Yasin. "They belonged to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan's Jamatul Ahrar faction," claimed the SSP, adding that Inamullah was chief of the organisation's Karachi chapter.

The SSP further said that the militants belonged to Mohmand Agency and used to live in Korangi.

"They were wanted in attacks and killings of army soldiers," Shaikh said, adding that in Karachi, they used to generate funds for their oraganisation through extortion.

Separately, the Rangers apprehended 10 suspects, including political party workers, during raids in Nazimabad, New Karachi, Steel Town, Landhi, Sultanabad and Malir.
