Actor Kareena Kapoor-Khan, who is all set to star in an all-girls film Veere Di Wedding, said the film will be India’s first real chick flick as she feels nobody has had the courage to make a film in that genre yet.

“This is probably India’s first real chick flick. It’s about four girls, four friends, who come together for my [character’s] wedding. It’s really interesting and fun,” IANS quoted Kareena as saying. “You watch it all the time in the West, but nobody really has the courage to really make a chick flick here.”

The actor, who has recently portrayed a deglam role in Udta Punjab added, “With changing times and cinema of today, I think it’s easily done because people want to see a film like this.”

Veere Di Wedding also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. It is produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.

Singing praises for the film-makers, Kareena added, “The film is strong and amazing. The producers are two women — Rhea and Ekta — and then there are all the female actors. It is quite empowered.”

Of late, there have been rumours that Kareena is pregnant with her first child. Some reports have also suggested that the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor is three-and-half months pregnant. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Kareena neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.

“Everyone has to ask me if I am pregnant or not. It is amazing, everywhere I go, and even normal people are asking me. I honestly don’t feel bad about it or I don’t even judge people for making comments. I have never denied the fact that motherhood is a part of me.” However, the actor revealed she and her husband Saif Ali Khan are not ready yet.
