Sixth grader accused of attempted rape of 6-year-old girl in Lahore

Police briefly held 11-year-old but released him as victim's family decided against pursuing case

A sixth grade student has been accused of attempting to rape a six-year-girl in Lahore's Green Town area, late Sunday night.

“An 11-year-old attempted to sexually assault his neighbour,” Saddar SP Faisal Mukhtar told The Express Tribune. The victim was shifted to Jinnah hospital in critical condition.

Police officials claimed to have arrested Z*, 11, after the victim's parents alleged he had raped their daughter. However, he was released on Monday as the victim's family decided against pursuing the case.

"A case was registered against the boy and he was arrested. However, the case has been discharged as the victim's parents told a local magistrate court that they didn't want to pursue the case,” the SP added.


In March, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by two unidentified men in a car in Lahore’s Punjab Housing Society.

Police said *Rabiya, 13, a house maid was going to a market in P-Block of the Punjab Housing Society when two unidentified men in a car stopped her on the road. “They held her at gunpoint and ordered her to get into the vehicle,” the official added.

11-year-old girl raped in Faisalabad

The girl told local police that two unidentified men intercepted her near the market and forced her into the back seat of a white car, where she was raped.

Both men took turns to rape her while the other drove the vehicle, police quoted the teenage girl as saying.
