Mosquito-borne diseases cost thousands of lives each year, especially in countries like Pakistan and India, where people are at high risk of contracting diseases like Dengue and Malaria.

Cashing in on the opportunity, LG has launched a new TV in India which claims to provide a mosquito-free TV watching experience. The company boasts that its latest LED TV is equipped with ‘Mosquito Away Technology’.

Rather than spraying the room with bug spray or using mosquito repellent devices, LG’s new technology relies on ultrasonic sound waves that repel mosquitos and drives them away.

Further, the company says unlike conventional methods used to keep mosquitos at bay, their technology does not rely on harmful chemicals; hence, it is also odour-free and not hazardous to health. It is also reasonably priced expensive and hassle free as you will not need to refill the liquid repellent or buy a new bug spray every once in a while.

The bug-free TV costs INR26,500 (approximately Rs41,000) and has a 31-inch LED display.

Besides the mosquito repellent technology, the TV comes with A Bollywood mode which optimises the sound for Indian movies. Keeping local consumers’ preferences in mind, it is also designed to provide the ultimate cricketing experience.
