FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) CEO Rashid Ahmed Aslam said on Friday demand for electricity had risen due to the heat wave.

Addressing a meeting of the officers of FESCO’s operations circles, he said a good load management plan must be evolved to provide relief to consumers during Ramazan.

He urged the officials to adopt a consumer-friendly attitude.

“We must investigate and address their complaints as soon as they are registered,” he said. “Effective service will generate goodwill between the citizens and FESCO workers.”

The FESCO chief said strict action would be taken against officials displaying lethargy.

He said a Rs5,000 prize would be given to the best meter readers in every division. “We want 100 per cent accuracy in meter reading. We want to incentivise good performance so that we can achieve the target by next month,” he said.

He said the Ministry of Water and Power had announced a Ramazan bonus for the best distribution company. The meeting was also attended by Chief Commercial Officer Sardar Masood, Chief Financial Officer Zahid Hassan, CEO (Operations) Amid Siddiqui and Commercial Director Abdul Qayyum.
