Raisani announces compensation for acid victims

KALAT:

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Aslam Raisani on Wednesday announced Rs 100,000 each for the three girls being treated after facing acid attacks.


Doctors at the Bolan Medical Complex told Express that relatives of the girls could not afford the treatment and had requested doctors to discharge them.


Last month the three girls were attacked with acid by unknown men in Kalat district. They received multiple burn injuries and the incident spawned a protest and shutterdown strike in the area.

valerie khan | 14 years ago | Reply ASF is proposing to welcome the little girls after their surgical treatment for free. if the girls are transferred in Civil hospital in Karachi or in PIMS Islamabad, they will receive free treatment,and ASF can provide free rehabilitation services.
Nadir El Edroos | 14 years ago | Reply 100,000 thats it? They should be offering free education and medical facilities. The costs of treating severe burns will far ecede Rs. 100,000. Not to mention the need for proper psychological rehabilitation.
