PESHAWAR: The new Police Assistance Lines (PAL) project has received and disposed of 105,111 public applications since January, 2015 as was briefed to the K-P IGP.

In order to ensure adequate safeguards, a data centre has been established in Central Police Office, Peshawar. All the PALs are computerised and their digital data has been linked with the servers at the city police office, which are constantly monitored. The services offered by Police Assistance Lines include security clearance, character verification, theft reporting, lost items’ reporting, child lost and found, vehicle verification, document attestation and legal advice.

In the backdrop of hard, conventional police culture, the first PAL was established in May, 2014 in Peshawar. After warm public response, more PALs were established in all districts of K-P.
