Textile sector: Turkey asked to remove duty

Pakistani people and government thankful to Turkish brethren for full-fledged support after earthquake and floods.

KARACHI: The volume of trade between Pakistan and Turkey is likely to reach $2 billion, according to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Senator Haji Ghulam Ali Khan.

However, he believes that for achieving the mark it is necessary for the Turkish government to cooperate and withdraw the anti-dumping duty that has recently been imposed on Pakistani textiles. At a meeting with Turkish Consul General Fathey Athem at the Federation House on Monday, Khan said that Pakistani people and the government are thankful to the Turkish brethren for their full-fledged support after the earthquake and floods. However, he stressed that Pakistani and Turkish investors should invest more in joint ventures in the country.
