LSA nominations row: Ahmed Ali Butt moved to Best Supporting Actor category

Ali Safina's nomination unchanged even though he expressed dismay at being selected in the supporting actor category

The Review Committee of the LUX Style Awards has finally revised the list of nominees in the the film category days after celebrities like Ahmed Ali Butt and Ali Safina took to social media to express their dismay.

Ahmed Ali Butt had requested that his nomination (for his performance in JPNA) in the Best Actor category be moved to the Best Supporting Actor category. His wish was granted.

However, since the removal of his name in the Best Actor category opened up a slot, Danish Taimoor's name has now been added to the list. Danish has been nominated for his performance in Wrong No.

 

Ali Safina, who had been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Jalaibee, took to Facebook and announced that he didn't only want his nomination withdrawn from LSA but also wasn't going to participate in any future award shows. His nomination hasn't been revised.



The revised categories, in alphabetical order, now read as follows:
