End of an era: Black Sabbath announces last-ever show

Legendary metal band’s final run will draw to a close come December.

Legendary rock band Black Sabbath has marked the 2016 tour as its last ever. The group’s farewell US tour shows will take place on November 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, November 10 in Houston, Texas and November 12 in San Antonio, Texas, reported Rolling Stone.

After November 12, the band will head to Latin America for seven more dates spread across Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. The group’s final show is set for Sao Paulo, Brazil on December 4.

“It doesn’t get any easier, physically,” singer Ozzy Osbourne said about ‘The End’ tour. Osbourne said that touring was taking a toll on the members’ health. “I don’t know how the Stones [band] do it,” he added.



In January this year, Osbourne contracted a sinus infection that forced Black Sabbath to postpone several concerts. “This time, we thought we got one more tour left in us — let’s go out and do it while we can,” said bassist Geezer Butler. “We’re all aware of our mortality these days. So while we still can all play really well, we decided we’d do one more tour and go out on top.”

Separately, former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward has formed a new band, Day of Errors, marking his first project since his 2015 album with the Bill Ward Band, Accountable Beasts. In a note on his Facebook page, Ward described the Day of Errors sound, saying, “We play loud, hard, with overtures of gut-kicking heavy, heavy parts.” The group features Ward on drums and vocals, Joe Amodea on guitar and vocals and All Hail The Yeti’s Nick Diltz on bass and lead vocals. The trio will also be joined by percussionist Walter Earl and Ward’s son, Aron, on keyboards.
