Arrest: Suspected killer held

The complainant said that the reason why Shabrez was killed was that Hussain was “a drug addict”

ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his brother-in-law in Chirah area. Waris Hussain, the suspect, was arrested on Tuesday, a day after police booked him for murdering Raja Shabrez, the suspect’s brother-in-law. Raja Shoaib, the victim’s brother, told the police that Hussain came to their house in small hours of June 6 and opened fire on Shabrez. The complainant said that the family was awoken by the noise and that all family members were witness to the incident. Shabrez died on the way to Polyclinic hospital. Police said the body bore gunshot wounds. Police registered a murder case against Hussain on Monday, and arrested him on Tuesday. The complainant said that the reason why Shabrez was killed was that Hussain was “a drug addict” and often subjected his sister to torture and they tried to stop him from doing that.
