Bahria Town Dastarkhwan opened a new branch at Lehtarar Road Khunna Pul in Islamabad as part of its initiative of providing two-square meals, free of charge, to destitute people, said a Bahria Town press release.

The free-food facility of the construction giant offers respectable ambiance for the poor to dine in. The Dastarkhwan can host over 200 guests with separate arrangements for women and space for washing hands.

The new Dastarkhwan was inaugurated by Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, a prominent political personality of the area. A large number of people from the Bahria Town management were present at the occasion.

Bahria Town’s executive director, Saira Pervez Khan, said the organisation has set up numerous Dastarkhwans across the country.

During emergencies, as in case of drought in Thar, floods in Punjab and earthquake in Balochistan, Bahria Town set up its free-food facility offering two meals and clean drinking water to people.
