National Accountability Bureau on Friday arrested Ibrahim Khosa, a cousin of former Punjab governor Latif Khosa, over charges of involvement in a Rs1 billion scam in Pakistan International Airlines Housing Scheme.
Khosa has been serving as PIA’s cargo chief in Multan.
A NAB spokesman said Khosa had launched a housing scheme 25 years ago and had accepted Rs1 billion in payments from scores of buyers. He said the housing colony had never materialised and Khosa had refused to return the money.
He said the NAB had suspended all transactions for the PIA Housing Scheme and had asked the MDA to stop purchase and sale of the plots in the colony.
Khosa was once nominated for senator by late Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto. He was elected president of Peoples Unity Workers Union in PIA 10 times.
