HANGU: At least two people were arrested in Qazi Talab village in Hangu on Friday for selling government school textbooks in the market.

According to a press release issued from the DPO’s office, the police acted on a tip-off and flagged down a van at a check post in the area. They seized 20 bags that contained government school textbooks and stationery.

“Two people were taken into custody,” the document stated. They have been identified as Muhammad Nabi and Muhammad Sadiq.

As per investigation, a school headmaster, Wazir Gul, sold books and stationery for government schools to Nabi and Sadiq. Police have registered cases against them. Further investigation is under way.

Separately, 11 people have been arrested in Hangu for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and possessing vehicles without proper documentation.

The police impounded three cars and four motorcycles. A large cache of hashish and liquors were seized from their possession. Cases have been registered and further investigation is under way.
