
SNGPL prevail
SNGPL defeated Islamabad Leopards by 109 runs as a disciplined bowling performance earned them their first victory in the tournament. Batting first, SNGPL made a competitive 271 for eight with Sohail Ahmed making an impressive 73. Imran Khalid then took three for 24 as Leopards were bundled out in the 38th over.
Kaneria impresses
HBL demolished Karachi Dolphins by a mammoth 155 runs with leg-spinner Danish Kaneria being the destroyer-in-chief. Kaneria claimed four for 28 and was supported by Fahad Masood who took three for 15 as HBL dismissed Karachi for 107 in reply to their score of 262. Earlier, Aftab Khan hit a 68-ball 64 to take his team to an impressive total.
Hammad blasts Sialkot
It seemed like a day where batting first would guarantee a win as NBP defeated Sialkot Stallions by 55 runs. Hammad Azam scored a whirlwind 76 off just 54 deliveries as NBP hit 311 for four before Stallions were halted to 256. Hafiz Majid Jahangir’s 101 went in vain as Uzairul Haq claimed four for 46 to make sure NBP came out on top.
ZTBL win first game
ZTBL earned a much-needed first win in the tournament as they beat Faisalabad Wolves by 81 runs. Babar Azam struck 78 and paced his innings to perfection as ZTBL managed 261 before being bowled out in the final over. In reply, Mohammad Khalil claimed two for 45 and Raza Hasan claimed four wickets as Faisalabad fell short in the chase.
Meanwhile, Wapda too batted first and triumphed over Multan Tigers by 77 runs with Shoaib Maqsood hitting 77.
