Alleged embezzlement: Three shop workers sent to jail 

Rafaqat Islam Awan told the court that the police were allegedly torturing his clients during custody

ISLAMABAD: A magistrate on Sunday sent three men arrested for alleged embezzlement on 14-day judicial remand. Kohsar police had booked Abdullah, Zeeshan and Nadeem Hussain on May 21, after owner of the shop they worked for, in F-7 Markaz, accused them of embezzling Rs3 million. They were produced before a duty magistrate on Sunday after expiry of their physical remand and were sent to jail. On Saturday, when the suspects were produced before the Islamabad Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate (West) Adnan Rasheed, defence counsel Rafaqat Islam Awan told the court that the police were allegedly torturing his clients during custody.
