Sana Javed first stepped into the spotlight with TV drama Mera Pehla Pyar in 2013. Three years and a number of similar projects later, she has announced her film debut which is to be directed by Amir Mohiuddin.

The yet-to-be-titled love story is expected to go on floors by August 2016. “The story revolves around my character which makes it all the more interesting,” shared the Goya star. “It is about Karachiities basically, so it’s quite relatable.” Sana added that she was approached for the role nearly two months ago, and refused to divulge any more details on the project as it was a “hush-hush thing at the moment.”

Since she confirmed her part in the film, Sana has been posed with a question that many in her position have to answer. Does becoming part of Pakistan’s film industry mean she will be bidding farewell to the TV screen? The actor hastily shrugged off the notion, “Television is a medium that I first started off with and I do not plan on leaving it. However, I find films to be a bigger medium and a better platform for actors to project their talent and prove their skill set… It is certainly a dream come true for a girl like me.” She was recently seen in the highly acclaimed drama serial Zara Yaad Ker.

With her foray into the film industry, the actor aims to move further ahead and may also consider Bollywood offers. “I‘ll definitely take it up if it’s a good script. However, it is important that I feel comfortable doing the role that I have been assigned. If I am not at ease with it, I will promptly turn it down.”

So far Sana is the only actor who has been roped in for the film which revolves around music.
