
The 53-year-old trainer, who is currently Faisalabad Region’s assistant coach, was one of only seven candidates to successfully complete the course out of the initial group of 22.
A medium-fast bowler, Shaukat was active on the domestic cricket circuit from early 1980s to mid-1990s.

In 13 career first-class matches, he took 32 wickets and was also a useful lower-order batsman with his highest score being 46. Moreover, Shaukat also enjoyed a stint at Scotland’s Royal High Club from 1990 to 1994. He turned to coaching at the end of his playing career.
