Bloody brawl: Three party workers killed

According to the police, a quarrel between Shahzad and Mehmood led to firing from both the sides

HYDERABAD:  

Three political workers were killed in a brawl in Mirpur Bathoro taluka of Sujawal district on Friday night.

The slain persons include Pakistan Peoples Party's district council member Dr Shams Shoro, his brother Shahzad Shoro, who was the former president of Sujawal district youth wing, and Sindh Taraqi Pasand party's local leader, Syed Mehmood Shah.

According to the police, a quarrel between Shahzad and Mehmood led to firing from both the sides that left three men critically injured. The three succumbed to their injuries at the taluka hospital.

Both the parties called a shutter-down strike on Saturday in protest against the incident. Jalal Shah, Afsar Shah, Mumtaz Shah, Zain Shah and Rukhsar Shah, all relatives of Mehmood, have been nominated in an FIR registered by the Shoro community at Mirpur Bathoro police station. The police have yet to arrest any suspects.
