FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Chief Executive Officer Rashid Ahmed Aslam said on Thursday demand for electricity was at its peak in Faisalabad due to the recent heat wave. He said the FESCO had chalked out a load management plan to reduce inconvenience faced by consumers.

He said under this plan, load shedding in urban areas had been planned for six hours. He said rural areas would face eight hours of load shedding.

“There will be no load shedding for large industries. Smaller factories and power looms will face four hours of load shedding,” he said.

“This schedule has been made possible by the increase in electricity production by the Ministry of Water and Power,” he said.

The FESCO chief said special teams had been formed to address consumers’ complaints.

Aslam urged citizens to avoid non-essential consumption of electricity during peak hours.

He said consumers could register their complaints at the toll-free number 080066554 or 118.
