Ticket purchase : LTC to issue traveller cards 

Fare collectors are being trained in the use of card machines

LAHORE: Lahore Transport Company (LTC) is planning to introduce traveller cards on urban bus routes to facilitate ticket purchase.

The cards are being launched in collaboration with TPL Trakker Limited.

According to a statement, the card would be available for purchase for Rs100, It will have Rs20 balance pre-loaded for the first use. The fare collector will charge passengers according to their destination by swiping their cards on a machine.

The card will be applicable on all urban and suburban bus routes. The system will be made functional by mid-June.

They will be available for purchase in buses. The balance may be reloaded without a tax deduction.

Fare collectors are being trained in the use of card machines. The statement said private transport operators had been issued instructions to use the new technology.
