What’s your first memory of each other?
Shezray: Shehrnaz is five years younger than I am. I have a clear recollection of being taken to Lady Dufferin Hospital because my sister had arrived!
Shehrnaz: I think it would be going to pick her up from school and our memorable summer vacations in London.
What is the craziest thing you have done together?
Shezray: Most of my crazy stories include her. I would say the earliest ones start with egging someone’s house at 5am, to, more recently, being wheeled into the delivery room for my daughter’s birth with Shehrnaz scrubbed up and ready to be my birthing partner (my husband and mother were on a flight to London), taking selfies of herself and telling me: “So this is what Grey’s Anatomy would be like!”
Shehrnaz: Creating and building
Ensemble together!
What did you get punished for the most as a child?
Shezray: My mother didn’t punish me much – I was a fairly easy kid. She nagged instead and still does.
Shehrnaz: I got punished for not studying.
If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the other’s closet, what would it be?
Shezray: Shehrnaz is my official shopper, stylist, and wardrobe consultant. Her spring-cleaning is like Black Friday sales for me. Currently, though, I would go for her black jacket from Muse.
Shehrnaz: I don’t want anything from her closet, but I do want all her books!
If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would you do?
Shezray: I would take all my savings and move to New York for a year.
Shehrnaz: Go shopping for myself, take a day off from work and finally, check into a spa.
What is the one thing you love about your sister?
Shezray: Shehrnaz has got to be one of the most generous people ever. She is an amazing friend and goes out of her way to make an effort for people.
Shehrnaz: She will never let down those whom she loves. She is truly the most selfless person I know.
If you are fighting with each other, how do
you make up?
Shezray: I sulk around making lost puppy faces till she reverts back to her normal, bossy self.
Shehrnaz: We glare at each other for a minute, say, “I’m not talking to you” and immediately start talking!
What is the one secret talent your sister has, that you wish you did too?
Shezray: Putting together spaces beautifully. She has a knack for interiors.
Shehrnaz: Her memory is pretty phenomenal. She can easily remember the most random, irrelevant details about something or someone from over a decade ago.
Describe your sister in three words:
Shezray: Funny, lovable and quirky.
Shehrnaz: Loyal, dedicated and emotional.
Which fictional character is your sister most like?
Shezray: The Dowager Countess from
Downtown Abbey.
Shehrnaz: Monica from Friends, or Lisa Simpson.
How are your personalities similar?
Shezray: We are both certified chillers. We can spend the whole day sitting in front of each other, on the couch, talking about random things. But on a serious note we love travelling, entertaining, are complete foodies and love online shopping.
Shehrnaz: I think we both have similar values and generally, similar interests.
I can’t live without my sister because…
Shezray: She is my best friend.
Shehrnaz: She is my go-to person, my 911 and my lifeline.
