Fake recruitments: Court sends 25 former officers to jail

QUETTA: As many as 25 former officers of education and finance departments have been awarded imprisonment by an anti-corruption court for fake recruitments of teachers and embezzlement of millions of rupees in the heads of salaries.

According to details, the judge of the anti-corruption court Munir Ahmed Marri awarded the punishment to the officers after being proved guilty in the cases.

District education officer, Pishin, Rasheed Tareen, deputy district education officer Mulazim Hussain, and another employee Muhammad Yaqoob were accused of 39 fake recruitments in the education department at Tehsil Barshore, in connivance with finance officers Amanullah, Ayub Kasi, Muhammad Azhar and Saqib, inflicting a loss of billions of rupees on the public exchequer.

On being proved guilty, all the seven convicts were awarded 8-year imprisonment each and a fine of 87 lakh rupees each. The embezzled money has already been recovered from the officers.

Similarly, 18 officers of the finance and education departments were awarded financial punishment and imprisonment for drawing 8 crore and 70 lakh rupees in the heads of salaries. The officers included executive district education officer Qila Abdullah Abdul Qayyum Nawaz and Jaffer Shah who have been awarded 10-year imprisonment each while deputy district education officer Muhammad Zafarullah, deputy district education officer Zubeda Sherani, Fasiehullah, Israel Shah, Fazal Muhamad, Abdul Mateen, Amanullah, Saleemullah, Syed Zahoor Hussain Shah, Badaruddin, Abdul Wahid Shakir, signing authority Abdul Ghani Attar, finance officer Saifullah were awarded 7-year imprisonment each.
