During a meeting on Monday, an official of the audit department presented anomalies worth millions of rupees in the accounts of Thar district's administration and government hospitals. It was also informed that Civil Hospital, Thatta, purchased furniture and medicines of Rs10 million without awarding tenders.
Thatta deputy commissioner tried to convince members to the contrary but could not substantiate his claims. This irked PAC chairperson and its members who postponed the meeting.
