Conviction: Life imprisonment for kidnapper

BAHAWALPUR: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Khalid Arshad sentenced a man to life imprisonment and ordered confiscation of his property after he was convicted of kidnapping. Prosecution said Ghulam Rasool had abducted Shahid Iqbal and Suleman on April 19, 2009 in Khanpur Saddar police area. The court was told that Rasool had received Rs850,000 ransom from their families. After hearing the witnesses and examining the evidence, the judge sentenced Rasool to life imprisonment and ordered confiscation of his property. The judge also fined him Rs400,000.
