Jamia Hafsa issue: Lal Masjid team split over execution of SC order

The DAG said that after the allotment of a 20-kanal plot, the issue of Jamia Hafsa was settled

The Lal Masjid management is divided into two groups on the implementation of the court’s judgment delivered on October 2of 2007, Deputy Attorney-General (DAG) contended before the Supreme Court on Thursday.

DAG Sohail Mahmood told the two-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal, that an agreement was executed between the ICT administration and the management of Jamia Hafsa on December 29 in 2011.

The DAG pointed out that it was agreed to provide 20 kanals of land in Sector H-11/4 in Islamabad for building the Madressah, research centre and a hostel for students of Jamia Hafsa in lieu of the land previously in use of Jamia Hafsa, adjacent to the Lal Masjid. He added that after the allotment of a 20-kanal plot, the issue of Jamia Hafsa was settled.
