Crackdown: Nisar asks FIA to speed up operations

Anti-Narcotics Force and Islamabad Police to further speed up operations against proclaimed offenders

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency and Islamabad Police arrested over 1,800 proclaimed offenders including most wanted human traffickers and absconders in a major crackdown ordered by the Ministry of Interior. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while expressing satisfaction on the results so far has ordered the investigation agency, Anti-Narcotics Force and Islamabad Police to further speed up operations against proclaimed offenders across the country. He directed FIA to engage Interpol and take legal assistance of other countries wherever needed to apprehend proclaimed offenders. In a major policy initiative, the interior minister also ordered FIA, Islamabad Police and ANF to immediately block the CNICs, cancel passports, driving and arms licenses of these individuals and to freeze their bank accounts after consultation with the State Bank of Pakistan within the next fortnight.
