Islamabad Police inspector general (IG) on Tuesday suspended an SHO on allegations of facilitating land grabbing.
IG Tariq Masood Yasin also ordered an inquiry against Kohsar SHO Malik Basheer, said a police spokesperson.
Rising street crime: I-9 SHO suspended for poor performance
Basheer, however, denied the allegations and said there was a lobby working against him. He said that there was no formal complaint against him.
Tahir Khan, inspector (public relations), said an individual had lodged a complaint saying the SHO was involved in squatting his house in F-6 area. He did not divulge further details.
SP (Headquarters) Sumera Azam will head the inquiry.
Yasin and SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiyani were not available for comments.
SHO suspended for detaining 45 in raid
In January, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) operations suspended the Industrial Area SHO over poor performance, said a police official.
Aashiq Khan was posted at Industrial Area Police Station last year. Sources said the crime rate, especially street crimes, increased in the area after his posting, which led to his suspension.
