FAISALABAD: Security forces rounded up 14 suspected terrorists in two separate raids in Faisalabad on Saturday and seized explosives and weapons from their hideouts. The arrests came less than a week after the military announced countrywide combing operations.

On Friday night, a team of military personnel raided a house on Sargodha Road in Ghafoor Town. Nine suspects, including two brothers, were detained who were said to be involved in terrorist activities and heinous crimes.

The troops also found five Kalashnikovs, two Russian-made guns, one 12-bore gun, six handguns and more than 800 rounds at the house.

Five more suspects were arrested during a raid in the Meeran Wala area adjacent to the small industrial estate in Chak 54-JB. Three Kalashnikov rifles with 465 bullets, four repeater shotguns with 136 cartridges, two 32-bore pistols with 100 bullets, one 7MM rifle with 44 rounds, two grenades and a dagger were seized.
